I believe this course will be one of those “before and after” moments in your life, changing the way you think about yourself as a musician and opening many new doors for you creatively. Through step-by-step video lessons, loop examples to build, and detailed creative assignments, you’ll develop your own sound and your own voice as a composer and performer.
Open to everyone — Beginners welcome!
You don’t need any background in composition, improvisation, or music theory to take this course. The only prerequisite is to be able to play your violin. Everything else — harmony, bass lines, rhythm, melody, arrangement — will be introduced step by step as part of the course. What you do bring is something equally important: your sensitivity as a musician, your personal taste, and your own unique sound. We will use all of these gifts as our starting point.
What you'll be able to do
- Create seamless, professional loops with sculpted layers that blend like the members of a band.
- Compose your own chord progressions and accompaniments using a variety of violin sounds and techniques.
- Add rhythm and groove to your loops using chopping and other percussive techniques.
- Compose your own melodies and improvise confidently over the loops you create.
- Arrange the different voices in your loops so they work together musically.
- Develop a creative process that lets you generate new musical ideas anytime you sit down to compose.
What makes this course different?
- A complete creative system, not just a looper technique. Many looping tutorials focus only on the technical side — how to operate the pedal. This course goes much further. You'll learn a full compositional method: how to listen, how to shape your musical ideas, how to arrange your loops, and how to develop the creative mindset of a composer.
- Built specifically for violinists. The course is designed around the unique palette of sounds available on the violin — the textures, articulations, and techniques that make the instrument so expressive. Every example and exercise is tailored to what you can do with your violin.
- Learning by doing. Every concept is introduced through beautiful musical demonstrations, and you'll be creating your own music right from the start. There are no abstract exercises — only real, hands-on creativity.
“As a classically trained violinist, I never thought I could compose or improvise and this course completely changed that for me.”
